PAINBOW is an immersive experience that confronts reality’s cynicism with symbols of a distorted fantasy.
Imagery of dolphins, hands, and fairytale become contorted with an underlying sardonic motive. These recognizable symbols are returned to us through Quynh Vu’s bold ink drawings and Wally Kelly’s large scale sculpture pieces. Together, they create a dreamscape that reveals the growing pains of adulthood while simultaneously attempting to cope with them. Painbow’s seemingly warped reality challenges us with a reflection of our own existence whose truths may be more similar than different.
